    Mixtape Vol.4: Tropical Mundane

Hope you make the best of it. Hope this summer is vintage enough for you to fulfill all your zests for nothingness and carpe diem. I tried to pick an eclectic collection of old and new, well-known and who’s-that artists. All juicy, spiced up and cocktailish. It’s not a sorta mixtape to relax you. It’s the kind that ignites a candle ‘neath your buttocks and impels you to do something, either sipping on a sweet nectar while dancing or wrestling with your lover in the pool. I don’t know.

Oregon Bike Trails - “High School Lover”

Plans yet? Cause this could easily be a summer cameo. And I already know everyone here in Sweden is counting down the hours for it. A day at the beach, slight wind but compensated by the warmth, a tropical wind safe to say. Oregon Bike Trails may be this summer’s Surfer Blood, though Zach Yudin the main guy behind the work from Santa Monica, CA is more Beach Boys-oriented while SB inclined more towards Pixies. “High School Lover” is a fresh though nostalgic spray on your face. Beck voxing on a Brian Wilson Californian surfboard fantasy! And it doesn’t end there.

It might be far more accessible but it can also be as dreamy as Panda Bear in layering. Of course the drumming grows far more catchy as it resembles The Lovin’ Spoonful’s “Summer In the City” or any post-May immortal tunes near that atmosphere. Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me, and I think he was quite right.
